If you would like to arrive earlier than August 17, 2017 you will be responsible for arranging both your transportation and hotel accommodations. Moreover, on August 17, you will need to arrange transportation to get to Wake Forest University.
You will need to arrive on campus between the hours of 9am-5pm. You will proceed directly to the Office of Residence Life and Housing (located in Angelou Hall). DO NOT unload your belongings! This stop will just be where you pick up your WFU ID card and your keys for your room. You will then proceed to your residence hall. A campus map will be provided with key locations highlighted for the orientation period.
NO! This stop will be brief and then you will proceed to your residence hall where you can unload your things.
Should your flight arrive after 5 p.m. on August 17, please do NOT come straight to campus. You will be responsible for arranging separate hotel accommodations.
First-year student move-in day is Wednesday, August 23, 2017 and it is best if you arrive between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. This day will be filled with getting settled in your residence hall, attending various information sessions, and meeting with your Residence Advisor (RA). Additionally, there will be a MANDATORY session for ALL F-1 visa holders on August 23, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. in The Barn. Orientation activities will continue over the weekend.
You will not be allowed to move into your residence hall before Wednesday, August 23. Therefore, you will be responsible for arranging your hotel accommodations and airport transportation.
You will need to arrive on campus between the hours of 9 a.m. – 3p.m. You will proceed directly to your assigned residence hall to unload your belongings, pick up your WFU ID card and your keys for your room. It will be very crowded on campus that day, so please be patient!
Should your flight arrive after 5 p.m. on August 23, we will work with you individually to help you get access to your dorm that night.
Your dormitory room will be bare when you first walk into it; remember, college dormitories are not hotels, they are meant to be blank canvases that you can decorate and adjust for your personal comfort. It will have basic furniture such as a bed, closet, set of drawers, desk, mini-fridge unit, etc. Each room, depending on assigned residence hall, is modeled slightly differently. To get an idea of what the layout of your residence hall is, please visit: http://newstudents.wfu.edu/housing/your-new-home/
Items such as bedding, towels, wall art, area rugs, and etc. that make a home feel cozy are not included. It is strongly encouraged that you order your bedding/towels ahead of time and have it delivered to campus so that the first night you have basic living amenities. Additional items such as lamps, rugs, posters for the wall, etc. can be purchased after arrival. You can order your bedding/towels ahead of time by visiting the following website http://www.rhl.org/wfu or the website of any major U.S. retailer.
