Lead@Wake

Identify Leadership Pathways

Complete your Global Connections experience through two different opportunities in the spring semester.

Students in Global Connections will take a first-year writing course with Dr. Jon Smart.  This special section of first-year writing (i.e., Writing 111 – a required first-year course at Wake) is designed especially for international students.  This course explores issues of language, identity, and features of academic communication, as well as providing advanced training in written grammar. You will continue to enhance your written and oral communication skills so that you are able to excel in academics and make effective contributions to student organizations and campus offices.

Additionally, as part of the Lead@Wake program, Global Connections students can participate in standalone workshops offered by campus leaders on topics like leadership, how to apply for internships, public speaking skills, and undergraduate research opportunities.
