Quality Enhancement Plans for the University
Global Wake Forest was selected as the focus for the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) in 2006 and 2016 as required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is the recognized regional accrediting body in the eleven U.S. Southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia) and in Latin America for those institutions of higher education that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degrees.
As described by SACSCOC, the QEP “is a document developed by the institution that (1) includes a process identifying key issues emerging from institutional assessment, (2) focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution, (3) demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP, (4) includes broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP, and (5) identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement.”
Both our 2006 and 2016 QEPs received the highest marks by SACSCOC of being accepted without recommended changes, as was our 2012 QEP Impact Report which was required five years after implementing the 2006 plan. During 2021, we will be preparing our 2022 QEP Impact Report on our 2016 plan.
